Rest, Restore & Rejuvenate

Mar 4, 2023 – Mar 12, 2023

Join Meghan Smith and Yvonne Kraus to “Rest, Restore & Rejuvenate” at the wonderful Haramara!  This all-levels retreat is designed to help you advance your practice and cultivate a sense of calm, restoration and balance.

Begin each day with an invigorating 2 hr sunrise vinyasa flow workshop to excel your asanas, and complete your day with a 60-90 min sunset restorative or yin yoga practice, or a guided meditation overlooking the ocean.  Expect to work hard but find pure enjoyment and laughter throughout the week. No expectations on how much or little yoga you participate in, but much emphasis on fun, discovery, creativity, and simply enjoying a transformative yoga week in paradise. You can expect to be challenged physically in the vigorous morning practices, and be held and nourished in the evening practices.  Most importantly, we emphasize fun, community, creativity, cultural experience, and transformation.

We cherish our practice but keep it fun:  you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy the markets and beaches in town, tour nearby historic villages, enjoy the resort spa services, or go on a whale watch or fishing trip. Yvonne is available to host surf, mountain bike, and/or trail run excursions in between yoga depending on yogi wishes, while Meghan is available to hone your meditation skills, and the art of resting and letting go.  Optional evening beach bonfire, hike, snorkel or horseback excursions, and sweat-lodge experiences can be arranged upon arrival, based on group preferences.

No need to plan – travel light – we simply hope you join us for a week of rejuvenation, inspiration, comradery and adventure!  Experience the magic of the Haramara that has us returning for the 4th time.  You will LOVE it here and we can’t wait meet you and welcome you to your personal retreat experience!

About the Instructors:

Yvonne Kraus: Yvonne first visited the Haramara Resort in 2014. The Haramara staff and her yoga retreat guides (Cara Zubara Butler and Kira Maar) inspired her so much that she set a personal goal to return to the Haramara to host her own retreat.  After a COVID -19 hiatus,  Yvonne is ecstatic to return for the 4th time this year to share her experience and to help both experienced and new yogis set and reach new personal goals, to grow and transform.

Specializing in Vinyasa, Hatha, and Restorative yoga, Yvonne guides beginners in learning the principles of alignment to build the foundation for a safe and sound yoga practice, which can then be safely practiced for a lifetime. With well over a decade of endurance racing experience, and personal yoga practice since 2004, Yvonne’s yoga classes are uniquely designed to assist athletes in building strength and endurance, and injury prevention. She focuses on maintenance of physical and emotional wellness and resilience for athletes who are training for, and competing in, endurance events.  But mostly, Yvonne simply enjoys teaching and guiding yogis through both real and perceived limitation in their bodies, understanding and teaching from the knowledge of her own physical restrictions that prevent her from reaching several “peak” poses.

Meghan Smith: Meghan first stepped on a yoga mat 18 years ago and immediately fell in love. Having always been active, Meghan found yoga to be a new kind of movement that really spoke to her – it taught her that she could slow down, turn inward and feel at home in her body. Yoga was a healing salve after multiple running injuries and major back surgery, as well as a salve to her heart.

While living in Los Angeles, Meghan had the privilege of learning from some of the most well-known and respected teachers in the country: Annie Carpenter, Kathryn Budig, Max Strom, Bryan Kest, Vinnie Marino, Seane Corn and many others. She completed a yoga teacher-training program through YogaWorks under the expert guidance of Annie Carpenter, where she learned intelligent sequencing and alignment principles that have been invaluable to her as a teacher. Meghan is a mother of two, a Seattle-based psychotherapist with a thriving practice,  and she has worked with the Seattle Veterans Center using psychotherapy, mindfulness, and yoga to help combat veterans heal and recover from trauma.
