This retreat  is crafted by nurses and medical professionals who are passionate about providing holistic,  integrative, healing  and adventurous experiences for healthcare workers, caregivers and anyone who seeks a deeper understanding of mind-body medicine.  

An opportunity to unwind, relax, move, breathe, play, connect, heal and nourish- this is a week long experience that is medicine for your soul. 

This retreat is designed  for you to just show up, as you are, and let yourself be nourished- by movement, by nature, by healing therapies, by nutritious food, by a supportive community, and the surrounding healing powers of the ocean and jungle.

THE YOGA. 

There is a reason why it was listed as one of the top 10 Eco Yoga Resorts by Yoga Journal. The 360-degree ocean views with the beautifully hand-built and spacious open air yoga shalas make the yoga experience at Haramara hard to beat.

Morning Yoga: Each morning there will be a sunrise meditation and yoga class. These classes are designed for all levels of yoga practice. Experience the cool ocean breeze and the sounds of the early morning jungle as you begin your day with a very centering and nourishing yoga practice.

Afternoon & Evening Yoga: Each day there will be an afternoon or evening yoga class offered including: Vinyasa Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Yin Yoga, Yoga Asana, Breath work, Sound Bath, Aromatherapy, Guided Meditation

Our workshops on retreat are a space for you to dive a little deeper into your yoga practice and learn practical and effective self-care healing modalities.

The Culture: 

We are fortunate to be able to host this retreat over a very special holiday: Dia De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead). The town of Sayulita comes alive on this annual holiday, when the plaza is covered with stunning and intricate altars and offerings, stalls selling sugar skulls and Pan de Muerto bread, and streets festive with colors and vibrant decorations. The town of Sayulita is located only a short walk from our hilltop retreat center. This is a great chance to take a meaningful part in the local culture while on retreat.

Retreat Leaders: 

Meet Janalyn, Angie & Ari! Your retreat leaders welcome you to this week long experience in paradise. Janalyn and Angie will be your yoga and movement teachers, guiding you through various classes in yoga, meditation, breathwork and sound healing. Ari is your retreat host, she will hosting workshops in self-care and helping coordinate all your favorite experiences whether it be surfing the crystal warm waters, taking a boat trip to the famous Marieta islands, participating in a local latin dance class or trying out an authentic Mexican cooking course- this retreat is all about giving your body, soul and spirit whatever it needs…and we are honored to help make this happen for YOU.  

 

Janalyn Rose, Yoga Instructor, Retreat Leader

Janalyn Rose has made it her life’s work to be a constant student and teacher of the ocean, the arts and yogic practice. Working as a lifeguard for 13 years, Janalyn fell in love with surfing and now offers a unique surf coaching experience incorporating oceanography and elements of surf therapy. Beginning her journey with Yoga as a result of injury, Janalyn has been teaching yoga for over 15 years specializing in yoga therapy and cultivating joy. A daughter of two Kodak lifers, Janalyn is passionate about capturing her ocean and yoga students as they are learning and evolving – as a photographer/videographer she strives to bring out confidence and ease in all of her subjects. Sayulita has been home for five years inspiring and bringing all of these passions under one umbrella – Sayulita Gold.

Angie Hanchett, Registered Nurse, Yoga Instructor & Retreat Leader

Her passion for yoga began in the Bikram Yoga classroom 15 years ago. She has completed extensive workshops and participated in Bishnu Charan Gosh yoga cups. Her teaching certification is from Soma Yoga Institute and derives alignment concepts from the Anusara tradition. Angie strives to offer a well rounded practice that satisfies athletic cravings, mystical curiosities, and safe postural alignment in the body. Her personal yoga practice is the sacred cornerstone to her career as an emergency room nurse. She lives for ocean activities and started her passion for public safety with the San Diego Lifeguards. She loves teaching CPR/First Aid and learning about the cultural perspectives of healthcare in global settings. Her personal mission is to inspire wellness by empowering people with healthcare education. She is currently on a sabbatical sailing a 30 foot sailboat with her boyfriend in Baja California.

Ari Rasori, RN, FNP. Retreat Host & Coordinator 

Ari is a nurse practitioner passionate about holistic and international health. She is dedicated to creating programs and courses that integrate health education and personal empowerment while sharing her love for adventure and travel. She has traveled extensively on six continents over the past 32 years, participated in several international health projects and guided on various international medical trips. She enjoys teaching wellness workshops, global health and wilderness medicine skills courses. She is the owner/director of  MedTreks International, an adventure travel company that provides medical education experiences for health professionals.  She is a certified yoga and pilates instructor and enjoys sharing her passion for health, movement & physical fitness. Ari Rasori is currently a nurse practitioner in the Emergency Department in Southern Oregon. She loves her job working with a wide spectrum of patients, but when she is not working or traveling, she enjoys hiking, skiing, camping, yoga, rafting, biking and spending time with friends in the outdoors.
