About the Instructors:
Joe DeMaria
Certified Yoga Instructor, Reiki Practitioner & student of Acupuncture and Naturopathic Medicine
Joe has always enjoyed being physically active and has had an interest in movement, yoga, and nature. His passion for wellness followed through college where he completed his Bachelor of Science in kinesiology and exercise physiology at Northern Illinois University. During that time, he worked as a personal trainer and exercise programmer for endurance cyclists and triathletes. Joe’s interest in yoga grew over the years as he used the practice for increasing quality of movement, kinesthetic awareness, and mindfulness. He went on to complete his 200-hr yoga teacher training at Tribalance Yoga Center. Within his yoga teaching he places emphasis on breath, alignment, and presence. His classes are structured with an affinity for balancing the physical, mental, and spiritual aspects of life. He is an advocate for self-healing, the mind-body connection, and the healing power of nature. He is trained in energetic Reiki healing and versed in Thai yoga adjustments. Joe is currently in school completing his Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine and Masters in Acupuncture.
Cherlyn Coplon
Licensed Acupuncturist, Herbalist, Reiki Practitioner & Certified Yoga Instructor
Cherlyn has had a love of nature, traveling and health from early childhood. Since graduating from the University of Iowa with a comprehensive biology degree, her own struggle with health sparked the desire to travel down an alternative path to heal and attain balance. Cherlyn graduated valedictorian from National University of Health Sciences with a masters & diplomat degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, along with participating in a one-year post graduate residency in Xian, China. Upon Cherlyn’s return home in 2012, she has since completed a 200-hr yoga teacher training at Tribalance Yoga Center and is a Level 4 Reiki master practitioner & teacher. Cherlyn has owned an acupuncture and wellness practice for the past 11 years at Tribalance, now expanding with additional space, healers, and modalities. Sharing her experience and passion for health and balance are her ultimate goals!
