The weather in Sayulita can be spectacular all year long. Sayulita’s location on the Central Pacific coast of Mexico, hemmed in by jungle covered mountains gives it a sub-tropical climate with only two seasons, dry fairly warm winters (November to May) and hot, semi-humid wet summers (June to October).

The Sayulita region averages 345 days of sunshine and 60 inches of rain a year. Winter temperatures in Sayulita average 80F with sunny dry days and cool evenings for perfect sleeping temperatures.

The summer months are hurricane season – but are extremely rare on this stretch of coast. The mountains just to our south protect Haramara from most of the hurricane activity, even when the storms do come. Summer temperatures in Sayulita average 88F (highs are in the mid 90sF / 35C), with high humidity and rainstorms generally in the late afternoon/evening, which cools the air down for the night. August and September are the wettest months in Sayulita.

Although June through September are hot, and it may rain in Sayulita – it generally clears up and sparkles after a rain or storm. Summers are quiet and many tourists are gone at this time so it is a great time to surf, stand-up-paddleboard or go snorkeling nearby.
