DEBORAH BURKMAN has been teaching yoga since 2000.  Her Vinyasa style classes are greatly influenced by the Ashtanga system and she emphasizes the use of bandha and breath.  While her greatest influence came from the late Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, she has integrated into her classes what she has learned from numerous other teachers.

Deborah presently teaches at the corporate offices of Twitter and was a driving force for developing the Twitter yoga and meditation programs.  She is a contributing writer for Yoga Journal Magazine and she teaches at the Yoga Journal Live conferences.  When Deborah is not teaching or practicing, you can find her hiking in the Oakland hills with her husband and their happy dog.
