You’ve landed in Puerto Vallarta and your driver is holding a sign with your name on it. A cold drink and a warm hello. Let’s go. How long until we’re there? 45 minutes. There’s more jungle than you expected, lush and green. Welcome to Mexico.
This place is AMAZING. Beyond what you’d dreamed. All the amenities of a 5 star hotel sitting in the middle of the jungle. Breathtaking views in every direction. You drop off your bags and wander into the pool before meeting your group for dinner. The food is delicious. You’re hungrier than you thought. More guacamole please.
Air warm on your skin. You open your eyes and remember where you are. The breeze is part ocean, part jungle. Paradise. The yoga challenges and supports you in all the right ways. You’re excited to learn. You nap and pool and nap and pool. After the evening yoga, you join the group for dinner and there’s lots of laughter and a few sunburns. These people are nice.
Hot shower, coffee, and you're off to class. This is the routine here and you’re enjoying every minute. You feel different. Your muscles and intuition are speaking. You feel taller. You’re sore in the best way. Massage? Yes please.
Your teacher talks about balance around, balance within. What a lovely concept. Meditation is coming with ease. It’s working.
You have stamina. Less fear. You’re looking forward to the evening yoga class. Long slow poses. You can’t remember when you slept this good.
You forget about your phone. Emails. The sun tells the time and the stars give you direction. This is how it’s supposed to be. You can feel it.
Your last full day of the retreat. You soak up every moment. Poolside plans that may or may not ever happen. This doesn’t matter. The connections are real. This part matters.
You wake up wondering how much it'll cost to delay your return home. Yoga settles these feelings, because home won’t be the same because you’re not the same. Breakfast is full of goodbyes and see you laters and thank you’s and I’m just so grateful. Viva La Mexico.
SIMPLIFY. CONNECT. NOURISH.
