Jungle Spirit Yoga Retreat

February 22 - 29, 2020

Renew your spirit and passion for life in just one blissful week during our 5th annual Jungle Spirit Retreat. Join us off the grid at the tropical oasis, Haramara Retreat Center, for a magical inward journey; get grounded in the rawness that is the Mexican jungle, practice being present under the Pacific sun, bend and stretch without the distractions of laundry or groceries, and breathe freely as you revel in the organic culinary mastery of the Haramara kitchen. Expect 3 delicious locally-sourced meals a day, one morning and one evening yoga practice, peaceful and comfortable cabana accommodation, optional participation in a variety of activities (spa days, boat tours, bird watching), and spectacular black sand beach and ocean views (with migrating whales!).

Throughout the retreat we encourage self-care, simplicity, stopping the glorification of ‘busy’, connecting to the spirit within, and laughing. The Mexico Jungle Spirit Retreat is ideal for anyone looking to remember how to practice living in the moment, anyone who wants to pause their busy lifestyle and reflect on the beauty of this planet, and for anyone who wants to to relax in an environment where all the details are taken care of. Our guests always leave this lush and tropical immersion feeling inspired, nourished, calmed and recharged. We are grateful to host people of all yoga backgrounds and abilities.

Hi! I’m Laura Martini and I’ve been leading yoga retreats for 9 years now. I believe in the power of yoga and self-development like nobody’s business which is why I commit to making every retreat better than the last (and I’ve hosted nearly 50!). I’m passionate about authenticity, radical acceptance, and meeting new people. I love facilitating these retreats with my hubby and sharing my crush on travel to exotic locales (I have a university degree in Cultural Anthropology). There are so many things to love about the location of this getaway: the climate, the magic you’ll feel in Sayulita’s plazas, the sound of the ocean lulling you to sleep each night, and the deep respect for the nature and history of the land. Join me and my hubby in February for a retreat your friends will be ridiculously jealous to hear about:)

“Martini Yoga retreats are a great way to escape to beautiful destinations. I’ve been on several of these adventures and every time I’ve met some of the best people in some of the most amazing places. The only downside is that you never want to leave.
— Mitch M

“Laura’s retreats are fantastic! I leave the retreat feeling renewed and ready to conquer my busy life. She helps me to feel centred.
— Kim I

“The retreat was a great mix of beautiful scenery, fun yoga practice, delicious food and amazing company. Oh and tasty wine, who could forget that! It was a relaxing and rejuvenating experience which I hope to repeat!
— Megan M.

About the Instructors:

Laura Martini E-RYT 500 has been teaching yoga for 11 years and practicing for 13.  She has completed over 1300 hours of training from Jeff and Sonya ThomlinsonMaya Yoga Teacher Training, the South Okanagan Yoga Association, Semperviva, the Vancouver School of Yoga, and the Nosara Yoga Institute.  Laura specializes in leading unique yoga retreat experiences.  Some of her favourite retreat hot spots include Costa Rica, Mexico, Bali, Italy, and right at home in the sunny Okanagan.  Her retreats are ridiculously fun and often include booze (yes, you read that right).  In 2015, Laura became a “Master Trainer” and began co-leading 200 hour Yoga Alliance approved Yoga Teacher Training programs through the studio she has taught at since inception, Oranj Fitness. She leads the Oranj yoga teacher training programs throughout the year in Kelowna, Penticton, Fort McMurray, Grande Prairie, Airdrie, and Castlegar.

Laura grew up on a hobby farm the daughter to two lumberjacks (they would prefer the term “foresters”).  As much as her parents wanted her to be a lawyer, she went a different route and made a career out of her passions of traveling and yoga. She loves wine and thinks that her Vino & Vinyasa Retreats are a marriage of greatness.  She also enjoys cheese, hiking, puppies, and historical romance novels (not the cheesy kind…substance is required).  She believes in presence, karma, and the good in everyone.

Are you a yoga instructor or thinking about becoming a yoga instructor? Head over to Laura’s passion project YogaTeacherPrep.com and take advantage of all the resources she has built to support yoga teachers around the world.

“Laura Martini is a very effective yoga instructor. Her professionalism and style really integrates well with how I program our athletes’ off-season training. She is able to create an environment that is fun but yet still detail oriented. Her enthusiasm is infectious.
— Shawn S, Director of Athletic Development- Crash Conditioning BC

Laura’s “Martini Yoga” classes are an enthusiastic and integral fusion of styles and postures that are specifically designed for our modern culture.  Martini Yoga classes are structured without being predictable, they are accessible for everyone, and they are never without a healthy combination of fun, compassion, and relaxation.  Laura’s relatability is undeniable, she has created a love for yoga within people of all different ages and levels of fitness.  Her raw and unabashed ability to push people beyond their self-constricting ego is unique and is perhaps the reason why she has hundreds of students.  She likes to help her students find their “edge” and get to know their bodies and minds a little bit better. Check out Laura’s classes at Oranj Fitness and now in her hOMe studio, Mandala Studio.
