About the Instructors:
Meghan Smith: Meghan stepped onto a yoga mat 15 years ago and immediately fell in love. Having always been active, Meghan found yoga to be a new kind of movement that really spoke to her – it taught her that she could slow down, turn inward and feel at home in her body. Yoga was a healing salve after multiple running injuries and major back surgery, as well as a salve to her heart.
While living in Los Angeles, Meghan learned from some of the most well-known and respected teachers in the country: Annie Carpenter, Kathryn Budig, Max Strom, Bryan Kest, Vinnie Marino, Seane Corn and many others. She completed a yoga teacher-training program through YogaWorks under the expert guidance of Annie Carpenter, where she learned intelligent sequencing and alignment principles that have been invaluable to her as a teacher.
Meghan is a psychotherapist and practices in Seattle WA.
Yvonne Kraus: Yvonne visited the Haramara Resort for her 40th Birthday in 2014. The Haramara staff and yoga retreat guides inspired her so much that she set a goal to return. 2020 will be Yvonne’s 4th time at the Haramara. Each year she is amazed and re-inspired by the Haramara’s beauty and the strong personal growth and emotional connections yogis find here.
Specializing in Vinyasa, Hatha, and Restorative yoga, Yvonne guides beginners and advanced yogis in learning the principles of alignment to build the foundation for a safe and sound yoga practice, which can then be practiced for a lifetime. With over a decade of endurance racing, triathlon, and mountain bike racing experience, as well as a personal yoga practice since 2004, Yvonne’s yoga classes are uniquely designed to assist athletes in building strength and endurance, and injury prevention. She focuses on maintenance of physical and emotional wellness and resilience for athletes who are training for, and competing in, endurance events. This includes the art of finding rest during Yvonne’s restorative classes, using props and the simplicity of gravity to help yogi’s find comfort and ease in both mind and body.
Yvonne is the Executive Director of the Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance in Seattle, Washington.
