About the Instructors:
Patty is convinced that she did not find yoga – yoga found her. An avid runner, Patty suddenly found herself stalled with a knee injury that would require surgery and months of rehabilitation. In December 2002 upon the urging of a friend, Patty took her very first Baptiste yoga class with none other than Baron Baptiste himself. Patty was instantly hooked on Baron’s powerful flow and style of teaching and right then she knew her life was about to change forever. Down Dog opened 4 months later on April 13th, 2003.
More than 15 years later, thousands of yogis have flowed through Patty’s studios, experiencing the transformational teachings of Baron Baptiste that first inspired her. It is not unusual to see her students lined up to secure a spot in her packed classes.
Today, Down Dog Yoga is one of the best-known and most well-respected studios in the country. Locals and visitors from every walk of life, flock to our studios to experience their popular classes and welcoming community.
Patty and her Down Dog studios have been featured in numerous publications and magazines,, including the James Patterson’s Best Seller mystery novel Alex Cross. Down Dog was also named DC’s national treasure by Women’s Health and Fitness Magazine.
Patty now leads international teacher trainings, and women’s retreats,. She most enjoyed her leadership growth programs for self development through her online courses and in house studio work.
